How every service is handled
The Penduline process begins the same way regardless of which service you have in mind: with the watch on the bench and someone giving it proper attention. An inspection is not a formality — it is where the work actually starts.
Before any tools are lifted beyond that inspection, a written estimate is prepared. It describes what needs to be done, what parts are likely to be needed, and the cost. You decide whether to proceed. There is no obligation in either direction.
For movement services, the work follows a structured sequence: disassembly, ultrasonic cleaning, inspection of components, replacement of worn parts, lubrication, reassembly, and regulation on a timing machine. The process is methodical because mechanical movements reward patience.

Quick Inspection & Quote
An unhurried bench inspection to understand a watch's condition and outline what care it may need, with a clear written estimate. Helpful for anyone unsure where to begin. No work proceeds until the plan is agreed.

Best suited for
Owners who have recently acquired a watch and want to understand its condition, or those who have noticed a change in performance but are unsure of the cause.
Service 02
Movement Service & Refit
A standard service of cleaning, lubrication, and regulation, paired with light case and bracelet tidying. A well-rounded visit for daily and dress watches alike. Includes a final timing check across two positions.

Best suited for
Daily wearers and dress watches due for a routine service — generally every three to five years depending on conditions and usage. Also suitable for watches recently acquired and of unknown service history.
Service 03
Restoration Atelier Project
An end-to-end restoration of a significant piece, combining movement work, case conservation, and dial care over an agreed timeline. For owners restoring a watch of personal or historical value. Progress is shared with photographs at each stage.

Best suited for
Watches with personal, family, or horological significance where the owner wants a thorough, documented restoration rather than a straightforward service. Pieces often brought here include vintage dress watches, inherited timepieces, and early-production mechanical watches.

Standards We Follow
Workshop protocols across all services
Secure watch handling
Watches are logged on arrival and stored in a secured area. Handling is restricted to bench staff, and storage conditions are appropriate for fine timepieces.
Correct lubricants by movement type
Lubrication is applied using movement-appropriate grades. The same lubricant is not used across all movements — choices are made based on the specific calibre and its wear points.
Timing machine regulation
Regulation is verified on a dedicated timing machine. Results across positions are recorded and presented as part of the completed work, not as a verbal summary.
Original parts preference
Where original or equivalent-quality replacement parts can be sourced, they are used. Substitutions are discussed with the owner before proceeding, not made silently.
Premises security
The workshop is located within a secure commercial premises. Watches are not left unattended outside of locked storage and are not taken off-site without notice.
Written records throughout
From the initial inspection note through to the collection record, the work on each watch is documented. You receive relevant paperwork at collection and can request copies of records at any point.
