How Penduline came to be
Penduline opened on Phra Sumen Road in the Banglamphu quarter of Bangkok — a neighbourhood already accustomed to slow walking and long conversations. The name comes from the pendulum, the oscillating part that gives a mechanical watch its steady beat. It felt like the right word for a workshop that values steadiness above speed.
The founding intention was simple: to be the kind of workshop that owners of meaningful watches could trust. Not a chain. Not a counter at a shopping mall. A bench where someone who knows movements well looks at your watch without distraction, tells you what they find, and does only what is agreed.
Bangkok has a quietly growing community of watch enthusiasts and collectors. Many own pieces of real sentimental or horological value and have struggled to find skilled repair work they feel comfortable with. Penduline exists to fill that gap, working with each owner at whatever pace the watch and the situation calls for.
Mission
What we set out to do
Our mission is to give every watch in our care the time it deserves. That means a proper bench inspection before anything else, a written estimate laid out in plain terms, and work carried out by hand using appropriate tools and parts.
We do not promise the fastest turnaround in the city. We do try to be the most careful. When a piece has history — whether it belonged to a grandfather or a notable collector — the work it receives should reflect that.

Trained in mechanical movements over more than a decade, Krittipong leads all bench work at Penduline. He handles the most complex restoration projects personally.

Case & Dial Specialist
Nattaporn focuses on case conservation and dial care, bringing a careful hand to the visible elements of each restoration without altering original character.

Apisit manages all client communication, ensuring that estimates, progress updates, and collection arrangements are handled with clarity and care.
How We Work
The standards we hold ourselves to
Nothing without a written estimate
Every piece receives a written cost outline before any work begins. No surprises on collection.
Secure storage on premises
Watches are kept in a secured storage area while on the premises. Access is restricted to workshop staff only.
Quality parts only
We source replacement parts appropriate to the movement. Generic substitutes are used only when no better alternative exists, and always with your knowledge.
Timing machine verification
Movement services include a timing check on a dedicated timing machine. Results are recorded and shared with the completed work.
Photographic documentation
Restoration projects are documented at each significant stage with photographs shared to keep you informed throughout the process.
Clear, plain communication
We explain findings and options in ordinary terms — no technical language used to justify costs or create distance between the workshop and the owner.

What guides the work at Penduline
Watch repair is a trade built on trust. When someone leaves a watch at the bench — particularly one with meaning, whether a family heirloom or a piece they saved for over years — they are placing confidence in people they may have only just met. At Penduline, that responsibility is taken seriously.
The work done here is modest in scope but not in intention. We handle mechanical and automatic movements, carry out standard servicing and regulation, and take on restoration work for pieces of personal significance. We do not overstate our range or take on work we are not equipped to do well.
Bangkok has a warm and knowledgeable community of watch owners across many different levels of interest and investment. Some own a single dress watch worn for decades. Others collect broadly and want a workshop they can rely on for ongoing care. Penduline tries to serve both kinds of owner with the same standard of attention.
The workshop is located on Phra Sumen Road, easily walkable from the Democracy Monument and the old quarter around Khao San Road. Visitors are welcome during opening hours. Appointments are not required but are appreciated for restoration discussions.
